Yayasan Orang Kurang Upaya Kelantan (YOKUK) or Kelantan Foundation For The Disabled, is a charitable foundation established to alleviate the plight of the people with disabilities and to give them a meaningful life. The Foundation belives that disabled must be given the opportunity and assistance to achieve this goal. The disabled should be assisted by those who are capable amongst us. The trauma of being disabled is a community responsibility and has to be shared by all.
We believe that the needs of severely disabled people can best be given due attention through community-based rehabilitation, whereby the disabled are provided with the necessary care, rehabilitation and training programmes suitable to their needs, and which revolve around members of the family as well as the local community coming together to assist the disabled.
Rehabilitation can only be achieved with full co-operation from the disabled person, the support of family members and concerned members of the society. The community can assist by volunteering in the programmes conducted by the Foundation, donate to the Foundation in cash or kinds, or assist in any fund raising programs conducted by the Foundation.
